Using Your Insurance
Yes, you have options with your insurance benefits here.
While we are a private pay practice, we have designed a seamless process to help you get reimbursed for your therapy. We have served thousands of clients, and the majority find that their insurance plan covers a significant portion of their sessions. We handle the paperwork so you can focus on the therapy.
How It Works: The 4-Step Cycle
Think of our process like a business travel expense. You pay upfront, submit the receipt, and get paid back.
-
You Attend: You pay for your session at the time of service.
-
We Email You a Receipt: At the end of the month, we email you a specialized "Insurance-Ready Statement" (technically called a Superbill).
-
You Upload: You log into your insurance portal or app and upload the statement.
-
You Receive: Your insurance company mails you a check for the amount covered by your plan.
The Time Commitment: Most of our clients tell us that submitting their monthly statement takes less than five minutes.
Understanding Your Investment
We believe therapy should be accessible, which is why we offer a range of fee options based on the experience level of your clinician. Because every client’s needs are unique, our session fees vary.
Factors that influence your rate:

-
The Provider: Rates differ between Clinical Interns, Licensed Associates, and Senior Clinicians.
-
The Service: Individual, Couples, and Family sessions have different fee structures.

Get a Custom Quote: We don't want you to guess. When you reach out, we will look at your specific needs and budget to match you with the right counselor and provide an exact rate before you book.

Example: The "Real Cost" Math
How the reimbursement cycle helps you save

To understand the value of out-of-network benefits, look at this example of what many clients experience:
The Scenario: Let's say your session fee is $120 and your insurance plan covers 60% of out-of-network costs.
You Pay: $120 at the time of session.
You Receive: A check for $72 from your insurance (after deductible).
The Real Cost: $48
Regardless of your specific rate, checking your benefits (see below) is the key to unlocking this savings.
We don't want financial surprises. Before you book your first session, you can find out exactly what your plan covers.

Subject: Benefits Check: Out-of-Network Therapy Coverage

Hello,
I am inquiring about my coverage benefits for outpatient behavioral health/psychotherapy. I plan to see a licensed therapist who is an out-of-network provider.

Could you please answer the following questions regarding my plan:
-
Does my plan include out-of-network coverage for mental health services?
-
Do I have an annual deductible for this, and how much is remaining?
-
Once the deductible is met, what percentage of the session fee will you reimburse me for?
-
What is the best way to submit my monthly "Superbills" to you?
Thank you!
Common Questions
What does "Out-of-Network" actually mean?

It simply means we do not have a direct contract with your insurance provider. This allows us to prioritize your care and privacy without insurance restrictions on session length or frequency.

For you, the only difference is who writes the check. Instead of the insurance company paying us, you pay us, and the insurance company pays you back.

How much will I get back?
Every plan is different. Some clients are reimbursed 50-80% of the session cost, while others have different coverage. We highly recommend using the "Benefits Check" script above to get a clear number before you start.

Do you have an app recommendation?

If you don't want to use your insurance company's portal, many of our clients use apps like Reimbursify or Thrizer. These services let you snap a photo of the statement we send you and file the claim for you automatically.
